ClickUp is looking for a fast-moving corporate controller to join our mission and run the accounting arm of our rapidly growing org. This individual will report directly to the Head/VP of Finance. This role ensures the timeliness, accuracy, and completion of all accounting processes and serves as the principal owner of the accounting function. This requires experience with all key accounting functions, including tax, order processing, technical accounting, revenue recognition, billing, general ledger, consolidations, international accounting, accounts payable, and month-end close. You will be responsible for preparing all financial reports, assist with compliance audits, monitor internal controls, participate in the budgeting process, and implementing business systems.

This role will involve building efficient processes that provide oversight and control over all financial data - ensuring compliance, accountability, and accuracy. You will excel in this role if you're not only strong in accounting, but have a passion for implementing processes that enable teams to work in a more efficient, optimal manner.

The Role:
  • - Assist in the transition from cash to accrual accounting.
  • - Work directly with ClickUp's investors in providing financial/accounting statements.
  • - Work with the executive team to create reports for board meetings, customers, internal, and external audits.
  • - Audit our books and create processes aimed at increasing efficiency and scalability.
  • - Manage overdue payments and collections.
  • - Resolving cross-functional discrepancies (bank, business, and customer contact).
  • - Advise the business on best accounting practices and internal control systems.
  • - Maintain a close relationship with the finance team.
  • - Prepare detailed monthly reports.
Qualifications:
  • - At least 7+ years of experience in accounting or equivalent with strong knowledge of all aspects of GAAP.
  • - SaaS experience strongly preferred.
  • - Expertise in revenue recognition, accounting, payroll, billing, finance.
  • - Experience working with data/reporting platforms.
  • - Analytical mind with excellent data collection and analysis skills.
  • - Outstanding presentation, communication, technology, and management skills.
  • - Efficient and creative problem-solver, comfortable with ambiguity, complexity, and nuance.
  • - Able to take ownership of fast-paced projects with rapidly shifting priorities, managing them through to completion with patience, flexibility, and passion.
  • - Consistent track record of increased responsibilities and scope.
